I took these photos back in September on a day when I didn’t feel like I was quite fitting into the city. On that day, I forced myself to leave my dorm room and go on a walk around Beacon Hill and the Public Gardens. I kept my technology away to unplug except for these few moments when I felt compelled to take out my phone and capture where I was. This walk was a turning point for me because after it, Boston started to feel like home.
I keep these photos on my phone and often find myself scrolling through them when I’m having a down day and feeling a little defeated. They remind me of how far I’ve come in the short time that I’ve been at school and that just because I’m having a bad day, doesn’t mean that I’ll never have another good day.
I wanted to share these photos because I take such pride in this city that I wanted to spread its beauty around the world.
Thank you, Boston, for being so good to me these past few months. I’m glad to call you a second home. Xx
